We Are The Homegrown Collective.

A women-led, garden-rooted business based in Cape Town, South Africa. We make plant-powered skincare and herbal remedies inspired by indigenous knowledge - crafted with care for sensitive skin, body, and mind.

We believe in the power of nature to heal, inspire, and connect. Healing begins in the soil, continues through what we consume, and flows into our daily lives.

Our Origin Story.

Skincare is more than what you put on your body - it’s about healing, ritual, and nourishment. Eczema flare-ups can make daily life painful for families with sensitive skin. Our founder experienced this first-hand and wanted a gentle, effective solution.

The journey started with our founder's response to her family’s eczema flare-ups - an all-too-common struggle for families with sensitive skin. Frustrated by harsh commercial solutions, she turned to nature's resilience.

As an agricultural economist, she was inspired by the connection between wellness, food, and the environment, Manna and Me was born - more than skincare, it’s a relationship with your skin, your wellbeing, and the natural world.

We discovered that many skin issues, including eczema, sensitivity, and dryness, start with inflammation — triggered by:

  • Environmental stressors (pollution, allergens)
  • Internal imbalances (diet, hormones, stress)
  • Emotional well-being

Our goal is to create accessible pathways to wellness - products that soothe, protect, and nourish while celebrating the healing gifts of indigenous plants.

🌿 What We Make

Manna and Me is skin food, naturally.

We craft products using:

  • Indigenous South African botanicals (like helichrysum, sour fig, chamomile)
  • Upcycled, food-safe ingredients
  • Gentle, family-safe formulations suitable for sensitive skin

Our products support the skin’s natural barrier, calm flare-ups, and leave skin nourished and protected — safe enough for the whole family.

We bring this same belief to skincare and life:

  • Nourishment for your skin and body
  • Daily rituals that restore and calm
  • Plants we grow and ingredients we craft with care
  • Stories, values, and ways of living that shape how we care for ourselves and each other

Connection and Relationship:

🌿 With the earth - generous, healing, sustaining

  • Enough care for your skin

  • Enough thoughtfulness in how we source, craft, and give back

When nourishment is real and rooted, it is always enough.
